Room Share
A room share is when two or more people who are not family members or lovers reside in a single unit. In a share house, a management company is usually in charge of finding residents, while in a room share, the residents will decide for themselves and rent the room directly. In most rental housing in Japan, room sharing is not allowed and may be considered grounds for eviction. Always check with the real estate agency first if you plan to do a room share.
