Town & Local Area Info
When moving to a new place, how do you choose which area to live in?
We all have different priorities as to what makes a place comfortable: public security, accessibility to schools and work places, abundance in shopping facilities, etc. No matter the preference, it is often difficult to find a suitable area without acquiring enough understanding of the place in advance.
In this article, I’ll tell you about the public transportation and atmosphere of the Yōga Station area.
To those who are interested in the Yōga Station area, or are on the lookout for a good place to live in―this may be the article for you.
What Is the Yōga Station Area Like?
Yōga, located in Setagaya Ward, is made up of a peaceful residential area favored among families. Same as the neighboring station Sakurashinmachi, this station provides great access to Shibuya, which is another reason why this area is so popular.
Within walking distance from Yōga Station is Kinuta Park. Here, you can enjoy all kinds of outdoor events, from picnicking on green grass to viewing Sakura in full bloom, as well as playing on obstacle courses. Not only is the park a great location for families, it’s also great for taking a stroll or for jogging.
Since there are few areas to enjoy lush greenery in Tokyo, this adds another charm to Yōga.

Popular Restaurants Around Yōga Station
(1)Ryoura
A store run by a former sous-chef of Pierre’ Herme Salon de The’, famous for western confectionary. The store is a 3 minute walk away from Yōga Station, at the end of the Yōga shopping street. Its exterior is pretty and stylish, and inside, photogenic sweets are lined up in the showcase window. This authentic French confectionary store is perfect for getting a souvenir for friends, or to enjoy at home.

A 6 minute walk from Yōga Station is a hamburger shop loved by locals. They are popular for serving authentic but reasonably priced hamburgers. You can select toppings such as cheese, avocado, and bacon, as well as order an extra patty. Being able to customize your hamburger is the best part. My personal recommendation is their Miso-glazed eggplant burgers.
