When moving to a new place, how do you choose which area to live in?
We all have different priorities as to what makes a place comfortable: public security, accessibility to schools and work places, abundance in shopping facilities, etc. No matter the preference, it is often difficult to find a suitable area without acquiring enough understanding of the place in advance.

In this article, I’ll tell you about the public transportation and atmosphere of the Kanamachi Station area.
To those who are interested in the Kanamachi Station area, or are on the lookout for a good place to live in―this may be the article for you.

What Is Kanamachi Station Like?

Kanamachi Station is located in Katsushika City. Although this place is not well-known, the station’s surrounding area is well developed and is comfortable to live in. The city has a large park where Bon festival dances are held during summer, and the Edogawa River is famous as a fireworks site. There are also children-oriented facilities such as the Katsushika Central library, so the town is favored among families.

The most prominent landmark of Kanamachi would be Tokyo’s biggest riverside park, Mizumoto Park. There you can enjoy the beautiful scenery across the water and various creatures, as well as seasonal plants and flowers.

Popular Restaurants Around Kanamachi Station

(1)Toraya Bakery
A bakery store that has an easy-to-find, light blue signboard with the store name TORAYA BAKERY written in red. The bakery is famous for its Baguette sandwiches (ham & cheese, uncured ham, etc). They also sell many other types of breads. My recommendation would be the red bean paste croissant. The bread comes in small portions, so I tend to eat too many at a time.

Kanamachi, a city at the border between Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture. It is a place where you can feel nature, such as the Edogawa River dividing Tokyo and Chiba, and the Mizumoto Park. The shopping environment around the station is also well developed. If you want a calm living environment, then Kanamachi might be a good area to consider.
