To achieve a town that is both work and living-friendly for foreigners, the city of Kuwana, Mie Prefecture and companies "wagaya Japan" and "ASIA to JAPAN" have entered into a comprehensive partnership agreement.

On May 7th, 2024, at the Kuwana City Hall, a comprehensive partnership agreement was signed among Kuwana City Mayor Toku Ito, Mr. Masato Sanpei (Representative Director of ASIA to JAPAN) and Mr. Haruki Noma (President of Nihon Agent ,Inc) This agreement aims to create a town where foreigners can comfortably live and work.

■Background of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement with Kuwana City

Kuwana City is addressing Japan’s demographic challenges which could diminish the vitality of local cities (such as the declining birthrate, ageing population, and the decrease in the productive age population), by welcoming foreigners as part of the community. In collaboration with private companies, the city aims to realize a global society and foster regional economic growth and development.

As part of these efforts, this comprehensive partnership agreement was established with the goal of creating a town where foreigners can easily live and work. The agreement involves “ASIA to Japan,” a company that supports matching students from top global universities and Japanese companies wishing to hire them, and “wagaya Japan (Nihon Agent ,Inc),” which provides housing and multilingual lifestyle support for foreigners across Japan, under the cooperation of real estate companies and rental housing owners.

The collaboration between these three parties aims to leverage human and intellectual resources as well as physical resources to enhance both the working and living environments for foreigners, with the goal of making Kuwana City a preferred destination for foreigners.

Additionally, “wagaya Japan” offers a 24-hour multilingual call center service, “wagaya Call24,” which can address inquires and emergencies from tenants at any time, enhancing communication between tenants and property managers.
